Reading is a basic skill every child should learn and master.

The school reading assessment conducted last July 2016 showed that there are 51 out of 304 or 16.8% of the Grade two pupils are non-readers which is contrary to the target of Every Child A Reader Program (ECARP)that aims to produce 100% readers.

It is in this context that the BCES CI Team has chosen to focus on improving the conduct of reading remediation for non-readers in Grade IIĀ  to address the reading problem.
